Founding Partner Gabriel Calleja began his private practice at a renowned firm in the city of Valencia to strengthen that organization’s labor department. He distinguished himself through the representation and defense of prominent national and multinational companies within the industrial sector of central Venezuela.
He expanded his professional career by founding the labor department as an equity partner of a firm in Caracas, opening offices in Valencia and Barquisimeto, and establishing alliances with lawyers in other cities to achieve a nationwide presence. This growth increased the firm’s client base and positioned it among the top 10 in the country, earning him recognition as one of the most prominent labor lawyers by Chambers and Partners, Latin Lawyer, and The Legal 500.
Our partner Luis Azuaje joined to lead the team in the country’s central-western region. With his outstanding academic and professional background, along with his judicial experience, he has strengthened and positioned the team as one of the most solid in labor law, earning recognition from The Legal 500.
Subsequently, both professionals participated in a merger between two firms to build synergies and expand the range of services, strengthening a robust team of lawyers across various specialties to meet the needs of an even broader client base.
In 2022, the long-awaited goal of merging the skills and professional trajectories of both partners was achieved with the founding of GECA Consultores. This established a comprehensive consulting proposal with a dynamic, up-to-date approach—adapted to the new reality and a disruptive trend in the legal services market—featuring an increasing technological transformation of its processes.
